President's Message
The Province and the Chinese Cultural Association of New Brunswick (CCANB) are journeying into the next decade amidst a fast changing social and economical environment. New Brunswick, with a shrinking population trend, is looking to increase the flow of immigrants into the province to expand the workforce necessary to achieve self-sufficiency. The Province is actively recruiting qualified Chinese immigrants through the Provincial nominee program. The important challenge is to retain them in the Province. CCANB is committed to help meet that challenge by providing a warm and welcoming environment for the new comers.
Looking back thirty years
Since its inception in 1977, CCANB in Fredericton has strived to promote Chinese culture and instill goodwill between all Canadians in the Province of New Brunswick. The Association, with its Chinese Arts & Language School, has served as a social gathering place for a cohesive, albeit small Chinese community. The successes of CCANB have been largely due to the many senior members who initiated the association and continued to volunteered their time and effort over the years. We are also very happy to see that our young generation is taking
more and more active rules in many aspects. CCANB is growing and growing prospectively
from time to time.Thank you!
Looking ahead
With the expected influx of Chinese immigrants into our fine Province, I am confident that our members will welcome them warmly as we have done so in the past. I ask all members to embrace this opportunity to build a larger, more vibrant and always caring Chinese community. We will work hard to reach our goal of attaining a property to serve as a home for our cultural centre.
I would like to invite every resident of New Brunswick to participate in the activities from our association. Please come and experience our culture with us. Together we can contribute to a diverse, strong and prosperous New Brunswick and live in harmony.
Limin Liu, President
